Quarter One Week Two

This week we have been working on warm up exercises using the Bb major scale. We've also looked at excerpts in the Tradition of Excellence method book that use the Bb blues scale. On Thursday and Friday we had a playing test on Shepard's Hey to determine seating for our fall concert. Paper work was due on Friday, so don't forget to get it in!

Quarter One Week One

Welcome back! This week we passed out information about our program, discussed classroom expectations, and assigned instruments and storage lockers. Members need to bring back their Tradition of Excellence Book 1 for us to use while we wait for Book 2 copies to arrive. We are asking all members to get their order forms for book 2 in by Friday, August 22nd.

We started working on Warm Ups this week to get everyone playing again. Blend and balance will be a big part of what we do this year, and we are working on listening across the ensemble to balance. New this year will be seating auditions. We are testing on #138 in the books "Shepards Hey" on Thursday, August 21 and will be setting the seating chart after we have judged the auditions.
